The Standard Queen is the room most of our guests book, and it is the room our reviews talk about most: clean, straightforward and quiet enough once the highway settles. A queen bed and a single along the wall, a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave, a flat-screen TV and a DVD player, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath.
You park directly outside the door — no lifts, no corridors, no carrying bags across a car park. That matters if you are arriving late off the highway, travelling with a lot of gear, or leaving before the sun is up. The lake is across the road; the pool is a short walk across the grounds.
It is not a large room and we do not pretend otherwise. If you want more floor space, the Deluxe King is bigger; if you are three or four people, the Family Room is the right call.

When a guest writes that this motel is clean, well run and good value, this is almost always the room they stayed in. It is the entry rate and it is the volume room, which means it is also the one we are judged on.

You want one clean night off the highway, you are travelling light, and you would rather spend the difference on dinner at the sailing club.

You want floor space — the Deluxe King is bigger for two. You are three or four — take a Family Room. You want the outlook — take a balcony room and accept the road.
What it is not
It is not a large room, and we are not going to describe it as one. It is the entry-level room in a motor inn that was last renovated around the turn of the century, kept properly clean, at a published price.
Everything above is stated so that nothing at check-in is a surprise. That is the whole point of this website.
