749 Pacific Highway, Belmont South NSW 2280
The two-storey balcony block and car park at Lakeview Motor Inn, Belmont South NSW

The honest bit

Some of our rooms hear the highway.

We could leave you to find that out at six in the morning. Instead, here is a plan of the property, a rating on every room, and the exact sentence to say when you book.

The property, front to back

Lake, then highway, then us.

Everything at the front has the outlook. Everything at the back has the quiet. There is no room that has both, and no amount of website copy will change that.

Lake Macquarie

Pacific Highway749

Front block — upper level

Balcony rooms with the lake outlook, over the highway. The best view we have, and the most road noise.

Highway-facing

Front block — ground level

Park at your door. Set behind the front row, so quieter than the balconies above.

Quieter

Rear — pool, laundry, car park

The saltwater pool, the guest laundry and the rest of the parking sit behind the front block.

Rear block — ground level

The Family Room is here: furthest from the road, and the quietest room on the property.

Quietest

Every room, rated

Where each room actually sits.

Standard Queen Room

Quieter

Ground floor, set back from the Pacific Highway behind the front row. You will hear traffic at times, particularly early morning. Ask reception for a room away from the highway end when you book — they will do it if one is free.
Deluxe King Room

Quieter

Set back from the highway rather than in the front row. Traffic is audible but muted. If you are a light sleeper, say so at reception — they know which rooms are best on a busy night.
Balcony Queen Room

Highway-facing

Upper level at the front of the property, facing the Pacific Highway with Lake Macquarie beyond it. This is the room with the outlook, and it is also the room that hears the road. Traffic thins out after dark but never stops. If quiet matters more than the view, book a Family Room instead.
Balcony Spa Suite

Highway-facing

Upper level, corner position at the front. Lake outlook, and highway noise with it. The corner position means one fewer shared wall, which helps a little. If you want a spa bath without the road, book the Family Spa Room.
Family Room

Quietest

Ground floor at the rear of the property, the furthest our rooms get from the Pacific Highway. This is the quietest accommodation we have. If sleep is the priority — a baby, a night-shift worker, a hospital stay — this is the room to ask for.
Family Spa Room

Quieter

Set back from the highway, without the front-row exposure of the balcony rooms. Traffic is audible but muted. The quietest room with a spa bath.
Family Balcony Room

Highway-facing

Upper level at the front. The largest family option and the one with the outlook, which also makes it the one that hears the highway. Families who want quiet should book the ground-floor Family Room.

How to ask

Say this when you book.

Reception can allocate rooms. They cannot read minds, and the booking engine has no field for it.

“Could I have a room away from the highway end, please — I am a light sleeper.”

If a quieter room is free on your dates, they will give it to you. If it is not, they will tell you that too, before you arrive rather than after.
