Our biggest family room, on the upper level with a private balcony looking across the Pacific Highway to Lake Macquarie. Somewhere to sit while the kids wind down inside, and a front-row seat for the sailing when the 16-footers are out on the bay.
Kitchenette with fridge and microwave, tea and coffee, air conditioning, flat-screen TV, DVD player, free WiFi, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. Stairs up from the car park, with your car parked below.
Being at the front means road noise. That is the trade for the balcony and the outlook, and we would rather tell you now than have you discover it at 6am. Families who need a quiet night should book the ground-floor Family Room and ask reception for the rear.

The outlook
Highway first, then the lake.
This is a front room, and we are not going to photograph around the road. What you see from the balcony is the Pacific Highway, then the foreshore, then Lake Macquarie behind it.
What you get
A private balcony on the upper level, the best water outlook on the property, and the western light off the lake in the late afternoon.
What you trade
Road noise. Traffic thins out after dark but never stops, and the first trucks are early.
If sleep matters more than the view
Book the ground-floor Family Room at the rear instead — it is the quietest room we have. We would rather move you now than apologise later.

The pool
Saltwater, in the grounds behind the front block, away from the road. There is no lifeguard — children need an adult with them.
Feeding everyone
Kitchenette with a fridge and microwave in the room, a barbecue on site, and a supermarket a few minutes up the highway. There is no restaurant here.
Getting out
Flat lake water across the road, patrolled surf five minutes east, and a sealed rail trail five minutes north.
